The minimum Federal guidelines requirements to qualify for small group health plan.
- At least 2 people paid on a W-2 (you will have to prove it).
- The company will have to pay at least 50% of the premiums of the health plan of the employees.
- At least 50% of the employees will need to sign up for the plan.
There are about 40 Affordable Care Act (ACA) plans to choose from in the Austin market. Small group plans there is in excess of 250 plans to choose from, so no ball park quotes. There is a way to get a price break if you have more than 5 employees sign up, the discount can be up to 15%+-.
